Hello! I’m Jo – founder of GloJo. An unconventional health professional, Nutrition Specialist & Health Educator and many many other things besides!
I’ve always been interested in what makes people tick. Why do we behave the way we do, even it is harmful? Why can change be challenging and why are habits so hard to break? The way I work is to meet you exactly where you are right now. And work towards what YOU want to achieve. We'll look at small sustainable changes (not short term diets or fads) in order to deliver enjoyable transformations.
I was trained by Dr Tim Anstiss (the God of Health Coaching*) early in my career and have continued to use these tools to help my clients unlock their full potential and break through to live the life they’ve always wanted and be happy.
As you can imagine, I’m exceptionally passionate about nutrition and the benefits you can see and feel in all areas of your life through living well. Food is an integral part of this. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT is a simple concept but a powerful one that I still firmly believe in. I work on the principle that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. By giving my clients sound physiological reasons behind the ‘WHY’ in terms of suggested foods to include / avoid or reduce our intake of, I aim to empower my clients so that they can take control of their own health by making informed decisions.
BUT. Health is so so so so much more than the food we eat. So, you may be eating "well" (a very subjective term) and still be struggling with health challenges. I've experienced this myself and aim to help you find a way out.
I have taken a huge health recovery journey myself and so know first hand how traumatic it can be, the enormity of potential change and how daunting and exhausting trying to heal can be. I developed M.E, P.O.T.S and Autoimmunity in 2014 following a virus. With these conditions now firmly managed, I know how empowering and motivating it is to understand the power of holistic health and functional medicine. Just to know that you DO have control and that better health IS possible can be a big step in the healing journey.
In terms of what rocks my world – it is food, music and nature. I’m an ex DJ, a self confessed food geek and a tree hugging lover of grounding. I am on a continual learning journey with health; always reading new research or thinking up new regimes or recipes. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen with my music on getting creative and busting out some moves at the same time!
The place (other than sitting under a tree!) that you’re most likely to find me is the beach. Either walking or along it or just sitting on the pebbles and wave watching….. This is totally my happy place.
I’m a Hastings girl born and bred but now - after many years of living away in London and Essex - I live in beautiful Bexhill-on-Sea where we I am fortunate to be able to gaze at the sea every day....
